Job Title: Executive Director, Soup or Socks, Inc. (SOS)

Supervises: Paid staff and volunteers

Mission: Soup or Socks is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization with the mission to provide food, clothing and/or other basic needs for those in need at no charge.

Job summary: The SOS Executive Director is responsible for fulfilling this mission by overseeing day-to-day operations including but not limited to the Food Pantry, Clothes Closet and Diaper Bank. Related responsibilities include organizing drives and fundraisers, writing grants, coordinating volunteers, managing staff, and reporting to the SOS Board of Directors. Additional responsibilities include financial management; maintaining compliance as a 501c3 organization; marketing, communications, and community relations; facility management; and continuing the organization's relationship with the Marshfield Area United Way as a Partner Program.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or applicable work experience.
  • Experience managing paid staff and/or volunteers.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, writing, speaking, and computer skills including use of Word, Excel and QuickBooks.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach and lift at least 50 pounds. Significant amount of time may be spent working at a computer.

Hours and Schedule: Salaried position, full-time (40 hours/week with flexibility). Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required for Board meetings and community outreach. The Executive Director is expected to work on-site during SOS's regular hours of operation (Monday-Wednesday 12:30PM-3:30PM, Thursday 12:30PM-4:30PM & Friday 9:00AM-12:00PM). Remote work is an option based on SOS operational needs.

Compensation: Salary and benefits are based on experience. Starting salary is $50,000 minimum, and raises are based on performance reviews. Initial performance review is at 6 months, followed by annual reviews. Benefits include health insurance reimbursement, paid time off, and retirement plan contributions.
