Overview:

A Customer Service Agent is part of a team of professionals who manage, serve and advise clients regarding insurance offerings.  CSAs assist clients by responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner.  They communicate with owners, insureds and carriers to ensure excellent customer service through proactive, frequent and courteous customer interactions, while supporting the agency team to ensure highest possible client satisfaction.

Essential qualifications:

  • WI Property & Casualty insurance license required. (Can be obtained post hire.)
  • Relationship driven, effective communicator with outstanding customer service oriented skills. A professional demeanor must be maintained at all times.  The ability to work well with many types of people, external and internal, with a friendly, outgoing and helpful personality.

  • The ability and willingness to solve problems in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Capacity and willingness to handle sensitive information.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented and adaptive with ability to efficiently produce quality work output.
  • A strong work ethic and priority on honesty & integrity at all times
  • Proficiency in keyboarding
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, higher education including but not limited to professional designations are encouraged. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful
  • Preferred: Two years of customer service experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Professional Customer Engagement: Interact professionally and positively with clients while acting as the first point of contact for incoming client calls/walk-ins/emails providing a welcoming and positive experience during conversations.
  • Efficient Processing: Gather information from customers and enter data in quoting software and assist producers in preparing new applications.  Process policy change requests, binders, certificates of insurance, new business, renewals, cancellations, and first report of claims as needed.  Handle address and billing inquiries, process payments promptly and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction. Electronically file, record and maintain organization of client documentation and communication records in the management system.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture strong, lasting relationships w/ clients, fostering trust, loyalty and client retention.
  • Insurance Needs Assessment: Engage in client conversations to understand their unique insurance requirements and recommend suitable coverage options.
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain the daily functions of the management system, which includes managing downloads, reviewing renewals, and organizing follow-ups and reminders efficiently.
  • Contribute to Marketing Efforts: Cross selling of new or additional services, products and coverage options.
  • Perform other functions as directed by management.
