Description: The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. This position will be in the plant and is responsible for employee relations through the implementation, maintenance and enforcement of training, policies, and procedures.

 

Pay: $25.00-28.00/hour, depending on experience

$2000 Hiring Bonus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audits and maintain proper documentation and record-keeping management. This will include attendance, coaching and disciplinary, FMLA, Leave of Absence, I-9, employee records, and other documents for accurate reporting.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers and the Human Resources Manager to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Supports ongoing employee relations initiatives to promote a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining orientation program for new hires.
  • Support Public Relations and Marketing initiatives.
  • Submits employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analyzing data.
  • Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Answers the telephone, relay messages, maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills with intermediate abilities in office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and the ability to multi-task projects and adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work within a team
  • Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma, Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • At least one year of human resources experience preferred.
  • SHRM certification a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered at Grassland’s discretion.
