Worship Leader

About Zion:

We are a church in the Global Methodist Church denomination and believe in equipping people to live out their faith in our community. We are a smaller and older congregation transitioning to a more modern style of worship. We have recently hired a younger lead pastor to help with these transitions.

What you bring to the position:

We are looking for someone with a blended contemporary style of worship, helping transition the church from largely hymns and some praise songs to biblically sound contemporary music.

This person should be able to plan, organize, and lead worship services, considering both older and younger generations. Requirements include musical knowledge, and the skills to coordinate and lead a team.

Aptitude for interacting with people. Should have administrative skills for scheduling and connecting as well as a general understanding of Audio/Visual.

The Worship Leader should be committed to following Jesus Christ and desiring to help lead and serve a church by leading them into worship each Sunday Morning.

Time and Pay:

This part-time, salaried position pays $225 per week, paid bi-weekly, depending on previous experience. The anticipated commitment each week is 10-15 hours.

Music and Worship Job Description

Under the Lead Pastor's general supervision, the worship leader will be responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of the Sunday morning worship service. The worship leader will be responsible for creating an atmosphere of worship by leading worship songs and coordinating other aspects of the worship service.
