Job Title: Child Care Lead Teacher                               Class: Full-time; Hourly

 

Job Location: 601 N Pine Ave. Marshfield WI, 54449

 

Reports to: Youth & Family Child Care Program Director   Hourly Wage: $14.00-16.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Youth & Family Child Care Program Director, the Child Care Lead Teacher provides direction for the children in the classroom, and assists in implementing program curriculum. The Child Care Lead Teacher provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by Wisconsin DCF 251 Licensing Rules For Group Child Care Centers.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of
  • hire date.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships
  • with people from different backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in implementation of curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • Establishes and implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
  • Maintains program site and equipment.
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Meets required continuing education requirements.
  • Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens training upon start of employment
