Description: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Boiler Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintainenance, and repairs of the boilers and the related systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all boiler operations comply with safety regulations and organizational standards. The Boiler Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be an integral part of the team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

 

Pay: Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience/education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair boiler equipment, including valves, piping, gauges, and motors.
  • Maintain steam traps, condensate return tanks, and pumps.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders.
  • Document maintenance tasks in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) program.
  • Plan and complete the annual boiler inspection, including all necessary paperwork with the state.
  • Perform daily testing of the boiler feedwater and condensate return. Adjust and maintain chemicals as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Water Tech group and Chemical Company to manage boiler system chemistry.
  • Investigate conductivity issues in condensate return to identify sources.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Occasionally backfill other positions or departments as needed.
  • Maintain attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Adapt to a continually changing and demanding work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and operate steam equipment effectively.
  • Communicate effectively to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment and obtain required licenses.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt effectively with a continually changing and demanding environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of Safety, Quality and Efficiency
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrate the Qualified Individuals responsibilities for the Preventative Control - Cleaning and Sanitation Program.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 5 years of experience operating a boiler and related systems.
  • Maintain applicable Powered Industrial Vehicle Certifications
