Job Summary


Feed Production is responsible for helping achieve Northside Elevator’s commitment to producing safe, quality animal feed. This position will operate processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures and current good manufacturing practices.  In addition to having the knowledge of the products carried, this position will perform housekeeping activities, assist fellow employees in loading bagged feed onto trucks and help customers load their ordered product.  The Feed Production is responsible for compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collect feed samples in accordance to the standard operating sampling plan
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Load and unload product from incoming and outgoing trucks
  • Access medicated feed and accurately record inventories
  • Ability to use Repete software to receive and blend feed mixes
  • Manufacture feed in accordance with quality assurance policies, standard operating procedures and current good manufacturing practices
  • Operate manufacturing equipment
  • Perform housekeeping activities throughout the mill
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Ability to run all equipment in old portion of feed mill
  • Bring bulk products into the mill from alternate storage areas
  • Deliver bulk and bagged feed from mill to customers and other destinations
  • Operate the pellet mill including performing maintenance and quality checks
  • Maintain and check the boiler system for the pellet mill
  • Ability to use weigh buggies
  • Ensure racks, bins and storage areas do not overflow


Additional Duties


  • Operate a forklift
  • Wait on customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Job Qualifications


  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material
  • Class A CDL preferred, ability to obtaion CDL within 6 months considered
  • Maintain a valid DOT medical card
  • Must meet all DOT requirements and comply with DOT rules and regulations
  • Work schedule 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
